Microsoft has recently announced that their popular Internet browser, Internet Explorer, which is now known as Windows Internet Explorer, is available in version 8. This version is still a beta, which means that their may be issues in the new browser, which will be subsequently fixed. It is available at the official site and can be downloaded now. It is compatible with almost all versions of Windows operating system since Windows XP and is 64 bit capable.
This is a great news considering that FireFox from the Mozilla Foundation has already released their version 3 and Opera has also released its version 9.5. These two are among the popular browsers because of the functionality and ease of use, which was hitherto not available in Internet Explorer. One of the important features of FireFox and Opera, for example, has been the ability to search for web addresses from the history, favorites and visited links, as soon as you start typing in the address bar. This meant that you did not have to remember the links that you visited, and you did not have to bookmark every page that you visit.
Windows Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 has a new address bar that searches the titles and addresses of the history, the Favorites, and the RSS feeds as you type. This feature enables you to find the sites that you want quickly and easily. This feature works best when Windows Search is installed and is enabled. You can get Windows Search from HERE.
Another interesting feature of Windows Internet Explorer 8 is the addition of Accelerators. You can simply select some text and then click on the blue Accelerators icon. For example, you may be interested in the location of a business featured on a web page. In the past, you would need to copy the address from the web page, navigate to another web page, and paste the address to get the location on the map. With the “Map with Live Maps” Accelerator in Internet Explorer 8, you can get view a map displayed directly on that very page. This means that you do not need to leave the page.
There are more new features like Web Slices, which keep you updated when you want to know that score. However, it is important that you ensure that your browsing is private. For the purpose, Windows Internet Explorer 8 will have an InPrivate browsing option, where the browser will not store any history about your actions.
For InPrivate usage of your computer, you can always use WinClean Pro. WinClean Pro is a utility to remove traces of your online and offline activity from your computer. Whenever you open a file or application, or browse the Internet, your Windows logs your activities. These logs can be misused if in hands of any unauthorized personnel or malware.
