WhatsApp Now Offers 2 step Verification—Here’s how to Enable it!

Two step Verification is the latest talk of ‘Security town’. Big players like Facebook, Google, Microsoft have already advocated two step verification feature to enhance their security at further levels. And now WhatsApp recently announced that it will be offering two step verification security for iOS, Android and Windows users to add an extra layer of security in their account. But it is entirely up to the users whether to enable this new feature or not. As a barrage of cyber-criminal activities keep happening around us, we strongly recommend you to adapt this feature. There’s no harm in keeping your account’s security intact—Prevention is always better than cure, remember?

Although currently, the two-step verification feature is only available or beta versions, however we can expect it to be rolled out to all users in coming weeks. On Android, beta app users running version 2.16.341 or above will be able to enable the two-step verification. Windows 10 Mobile beta user, running version 2.16.280 of WhatsApp can also enable the security feature.

How to Enable Two-Step Verification on WhatsApp:-

Here are the quick steps to enable two-step verification on your WhatsApp:

  1. Open WhatsApp (duh!)
  2. Navigate to Settings> Account.

  1. Tap on “Two-step verification” and click Enable two-step-on-whatsapp
  2. On the next screen, you need to enter a six-digit passcode. enter-6-digit-passcode-whatsapp

  4. Optionally, add your email address on the next screen.

NOTE: Be extra careful while choosing your passcode because in case you forget it, WhatsApp won’t permit re-verifying the account within seven days of last using WhatsApp.

How to Change Email, Passcode and Disable Two-step Verification On WhatsApp
