APPLE SEEKS TO TURN iPHONE INTO A PERSONAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT

THE STORY

The tech mogul has assigned a special team to present the next level of health tracking capabilities in iPhone.

HOW IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE?

Apple’s vision is to create a collection of applications and features that could provide complete medical information, including scheduled appointments with doctors, lab results and a lot more. But since this would involve cooperation from various healthcare brands and hospitals, it certainly seems far-fetched as of now. However, there has been news about a secret team working on this project as Apple is already in talks with various hospitals and related groups. If everything works according to plan, this would certainly revolutionize the healthcare industry as we know it.

TAKING HINTS FROM ITUNES?

We’ve already seen how iTunes totally changed the way digital music was managed and organized. If Apple could do the same with our medical data, it could open a lot of possibilities in the future. As all your medical reports, test reports and known ailments or allergies can be found in a single location, it would certainly make it far more convenient for users to seek medical assistance and treatment.

Organizing one’s medical reports and info is still a major problem, despite of the digital revolution. And since it could become really cumbersome to share or access this information between doctors. But with all info consolidated and organized in a single place, all these problems could be alleviated. As the company is also planning to host a new cloud storage space, this could be very well integrated into their ‘Smartphone Clinic’ plans.

WHAT HURDLES LIE AHEAD?

With something as confidential and sensitive as medical information, it wouldn’t be easy for even a company like Apple to pull it off. Although, they plan to safeguard all information by hosting their own online storage space, but that surely doesn’t guarantee it’s success.

It must also be noted that both Microsoft and Google have tried to achieve a similar project and have failed miserably. Nobody might even remember ‘Google Health’ that allowed users to maintain their health records online. Although Apple hasn’t yet presented a strategy on how they’ll turn this into reality, but they’re certainly one of the few names in the industry who can bring about such a quantum shift.

SONY PLANS TO OVERWHELM CONSOLE WARS WITH INCREDIBLE TITLES AT E3 2017

THE STORY

Newly showcased PS4 titles along with announcement for new ones, establishes Sony as a major contender for Xbox One.

GOD OF WAR GAMEPLAY TRAILER

The biggest reveal at E3 2017 was certainly, Sony’s exclusive action/adventure title God of War. While the game was already announced last season, they showcased a new gameplay video for the upcoming game, that took the audiences by storm. Not only the game looked promising and enticing, but could single handedly swipe the sales for Sony upon release. The video was tied in with a narrative driven trailer, which was titled ‘Be a Warrior’ that also provided insight into the game’s plot and several gameplay elements.

Unlike previous speculations, God of War is not an open-world adventure, but has a linear story with branching paths. Developers described this as an attempt to keep the plot story driven while still preserving the player’s right to carve their own path. No release dates for the game have been announced yet, but Sony has hinted an early 2018 release.

SPIDERMAN GAMEPLAY

This is yet another exclusive title for the PS4 and looking at the gameplay, it certainly looks worthy of an investment. Since it’s been over a decade that we saw a decent Spiderman game, but the E3 reveal only shows that the wait is finally over.

Developed by insomniac games, who were also the team behind Ratchet and Clank and Resistance, Spiderman is the first licensed title they’ve worked on. The gameplay shows likeness to Batman Arkham series, with less-darker tone and more emphasis on acrobatics and the character’s unique abilities. This could also prove to be a winner for Sony and has all the elements needed to create a great Spiderman game.

SHADOW OF COLOSSUS REMAKE?

But perhaps one of the most surprising announcements by Sony at E3 2017 is the followup to their PS2 title, Shadow of the Colossus. Although there’s a high chance that this won’t be a sequel, but rather a HD remake of the original game. Nevertheless, we can also hope for new gameplay and environments since Sony official Mr. Shuhei Yoshida has made it clear that this will be a remake and not just an HD remaster.
