How to Turn on Wi-Fi Hotspot on Your Windows 10 Laptop

Do you use a wired internet connection on your laptop? If yes, then you can turn it to a Wi-Fi connection by turning your laptop to a Wi-Fi hotspot. This will allow you to use your wired internet connection on your other devices like smartphones and tablets. So without any delay let us find out how a Windows 10 laptop can be used as Wi-Fi hotspot.

Before proceeding further please note that your laptop should have Windows 10 anniversary edition or above. So, if your windows 10 Laptop is not up to date then look for an update.

  1. Go to the Start Menu by pressing Windows key and select Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile hotspot.mobile hotspot
  2. In the main Window you will find drop-down menu Share my Internet connection here you can also choose Ethernet.
  3. You can change the Network name and Network Password by clicking on Edit buttonedit hotspot network
  4. When you are done with setting up the desired network name and password you can turn on the button given under the Share my Internet connection with other devices.

That’s it Now your devices will find network the name in the list of available Wi-Fi connections and you will be able to connect to internet after entering the password.

So now if you have a wired internet connection, then you do not need to spend extra money on Wi-Fi Router or data pack on your cellphone. You can use your laptop to share your wired internet connection over Wi-Fi and enjoy high speed internet on other devices.
