WHAT IS HYDROGEN?
If you’ve clamored for holographic devices and gadgets like they show in the movies, look no further as Red Digital Cinema have launched their latest holographic smartphone. Named as Hydrogen, this new phone runs on Android platform and is one of the first holographic and 3d media playback device. What’s more amazing is that you do not need any special glasses to view the projected 3d and holographic content.
As per company announcement, Hydrogen is said to be equipped with “”professional hydrogen holographic display,” which “seamlessly switches between traditional 2D content, 3D content, and interactive games.”
CAN IT COMPETE WITH APPLE?
Since Red Hydrogen hopes to deliver never-before seen features, market experts are certainly confused regarding whether it could compete well with industry giants. Being a company that primarily manufacturers cameras and equipment for use in professional cinema, this sure sounds like an odd jump into unknown territory. However, with an exorbitant price tag of $1,195 it doesn’t really look like it wants to interfere in Apple or Samsung’s business.

Red is famous for making professional quality cameras that often come with a lot of modular parts to suit various styles of filmmaking. In the same manner, they’re trying to incorporate modular features in Hydrogen to make it compatible with several cameras made by Red. Although Red have revealed several teaser images, we’re yet to see it in action or a working prototype.

Despite of being the undisputed kings in the mobile phone market for years, Nokia surely didn’t see much success with Windows mobile platform. But now they’re back with new smartphones that now run on Android and would certainly want to regain their former glory. Hence, the news that they’ve decided to partner with Carl Zeiss AG, doesn’t come off as a surprise.
According to various sources, Nokia have plans on unveiling a new high-end smartphone that will be supposedly outfitted with a Zeiss camera. Moreover, several experts also suggest that the phone is already in works and Nokia is keeping things under the wraps till the right moment.
WHAT ARE THE POSSIBILITIES?
Nokia officials have often cited the dual camera feature in iPhone 7 Plus and have expressed their desires to explore further possibilities. We’ve already seen the incredible 41-megapixel camera phone by Nokia in the past, which was a major innovation in smartphone tech. Despite their Lumia series meeting an unfortunate market response under Windows platform, their renewed strength in Android will certainly improve market response.
