“By far the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence is that people conclude too early that they understand it.” ~ Eliezer Yudkowsky (Co-Founder, Machine Intelligence Research Institute)
MICROSOFT PROVIDES AI TRANSLATION WITH POWERPOINT
MS Powerpoint is now even stronger with AI translator add-on.
WHAT IS AI TRANSLATOR?
Although there’s no fundamental difference between a regular translator and the one powered by Artificial Intelligence, as they are both meant to achieve the same task. But being powered by AI, translations are far more accurate and real-time for a multitude of languages from across the globe. Surprisingly, this new and improved language translation tech is now available for free with MIcrosoft Powerpoint.
WHAT DOES IT IMPROVE?
With more accurate language translations you can add new life to even the simplest powerpoint presentation. It allows you to add real-time subtitles in your presentations, with support for over 60 languages. You can also change the subtitles to what your audience can understand. The new Artificial Intelligence add-on reduces the chances of any translation errors as it uses machine learning to maintain authenticity.
WHAT VERSION OF POWER POINT DOES IT WORK WITH?
All users with Powerpoint versions 2013 and 2016 can download this new add-on. This will not only help users and individuals overcome language barriers and assist people with hearing disabilities. Microsoft had already launched a similar real-time translator for Skype video calling, which was considered as phenomenal by reviewers and critics. This clearly show how the tech giant is using AI for the betterment of digital users and making it more user-friendly.
KFC AND HUAWEI TEAM UP FOR A BRAND NEW SMARTPHONE
The special edition smartphone will celebrate 30 years of KFC in China.
DOES IT TASTE LIKE CHICKEN?
It surely sounds like an odd news when one of the world’s largest fast food chain announces a new smartphone. But since we’re talking about China where people are quite used to such oddities, this news totally sounds legit. KFC and Chinese smartphone brand Huawei have announced a new special edition phone to commemorate 30 years of business in China. With the first KFC outlet opening back in 1987, the phone’s back panel will have a logo depicting Colonel Sanders and 1987 right underneath. Unfortunately, this phone is a limited edition model for which only 5000 units will be up for sale.
WHAT ABOUT SPECS?
At a modest/mid-range price of around $160 dollars, KFC Smartphone doesn’t offer any breakthrough technology. So if you considered it would have a direct hotline access to any KFC store in China, we’re sorry. Nevertheless, Colonel Sanders’ image on the back panel also doubles as a fingerprint scanner, which is quite a cool aesthetic in our opinion. It is equipped with a 5.5-inch screen, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage (expandable) and Snapdragon 425 processor.
While the above specs aren’t very KFC intensive, it comes with a free KFC music app that could be used to create and share playlists in outlets. And to make it look more special, the smartphone has been provided with a bright red color to match with the KFC brand aesthetics.
