In the past three years, Trump Hotels, that was founded by U.S. President Donald Trump has been hit by a number of data breaches. While a similar incident compromised the hotel chain last year, the attack has now spread to more locations that now totals 14. Exposed details include account numbers, payment card details, security codes and cardholder’s names etc.  Other details such phone numbers, email addresses and home addresses were also compromised, adding misery more misery to the affected people’s lives.

The malware used in the latest attack was explained as a Virtual Skimmer that specializes in stealing card data and share with its owners.

WHAT DO HOTEL AUTHORITIES HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS?

According to the official statement by Trump Hotel “This incident occurred on the systems of Sabre Hospitality Solutions, a service provider used by Trump Hotels. Sabre notified us on June 5, 2017 that an unauthorized party gained access to account credentials that permitted access to payment card data and certain reservation information for some of our hotel reservations processed through Sabre’s CRS.”

Trump Hotels also issued a warning statement to all guests related to their financial information that said “We recommend that affected individuals remain vigilant for incidents of fraud and identity theft by regularly reviewing account statements and monitoring free credit reports for any unauthorized activity.”

WHAT ABOUT SABRE HOSPITALITY SOLUTIONS?
