Like its namesake, the much-awaited Android Oreo, has received a positive response since its launch this year. The latest android OS has introduced many new features to make the user experience easy and efficient.
So far, Android Oreo is available only in Pixel/Pixel XL/Pixel C Tablet, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. While there are ample features that are easy to access, there a few which the users may not be aware of. So, if you own an Android O phone and want to know about all its nifty features, then this article will definitely help.
1. Enable Wi-Fi Automatically
Most of us turn off the phone Wi-Fi before stepping out to save the phone’s battery? Android O offers an interesting feature which automatically enables the Wi-Fi connection each time you enter a Wi-Fi zone to which your phone is connected. This feature also lets users switch to networks with greater internet speeds.
2. Enhanced Storage Management
Worried about low storage capacity? With Android O, it is now easy to manage storage space on your Android phone. Navigate to the phone’s Settings > Storage. You will get the option to delete unused apps or downloads.
3. OS Updates Even If You Fall Short Of Space
With Android O, any Operating System update will continue to download even if the phone’s storage is running out. Unlike older times, users only require 100kb of free space to download and install any update in Android O.
4. Adaptive Icons
Another interesting feature of Android Oreo is the Adaptive icon. With this feature, all the application icons will now automatically adapt to the developer’s user interface.
Application icons differ in shape with respect to the device they are installed on. While in some devices they appear in a square shape, in others, they can be circles. For now, this depends entirely on the manufacturer but is expected to adapt to user interface soon.
5. Picture-in-Picture Mode
Android Nougat came with the split window feature which benefited users while multitasking. Although helpful, this feature did not work with many apps.
An extended feature called Picture-in-Picture mode is now available in Android Oreo. You can now watch YouTube videos, make Hangout calls on a minimized screen, without having to pause other tasks on your phone.
6. Auto Fill Feature
Autofill feature of Android O allows Google to remember login credentials and fills them automatically when you login to a particular app. A simple feature, it eliminates the need to remember passwords.
The latest Android version by Google, Android Oreo is power packed with interesting features. We hope these features help in more efficient use of your phone.
