YOUTUBE SHOWS HOSTILITY TOWARDS KID RELATED CONTENT

THE STORY

YouTube has now got strict and laid down some rules to avoid any kind of abuse or joke against kids. It will also not spare the creators who are part of it.

WHY THE STRICTNESS?

YouTube is the platform where you get videos of good and bad content. YouTube is seriously focusing on to stop the abuse or any other bad content related to kids. The moment, you open your YouTube page, you get suggestions for the videos you might like to watch. Kids usually watch the suggested videos which give the YouTubers opportunity to slip their content into specified kid-friendly streams.

There is content out there which have kids in it but originally the content is not suitable for kids and it has been a problem for long. People found a 12-year kid’s addiction to rubber solution(a solution used to fix tire puncture) so amusing that they shared the YouTube video for fun and also created meme on it. It is sad and has irony behind the fact how much insensitive a person could be. Besides, there are many videos on YouTube disguising something or the other but as the matter of fact, there are not at all appropriate for your kids. You surely wouldn’t want your little ones to stumble upon any such videos. Well, the issue seems to be taken care of as now YouTube has got scrupulous.

WHAT ARE THE NEW MEASURES?

YouTube has come up with a few new rules to combat the issue. Here is the list of ways that YouTube would use to ensure the safety of kid-friendly content.

Stricter Content Control:

From now on, a warning on “content featuring minors that may be endangering a child, even if that was not the uploader’s intent” and “content with family entertainment characters but containing mature themes or adult humor.” will flash at the start of the video.

Demonetizing Shady kids Stuff:

The disguising content which has things that could possibly be inappropriate for kids won’t get the ad money.

Aggressive Comment Patrol On Videos Of kids:

If the video involving kids’ comment section has anything inappropriate.  The comments for that content will be turned off completely.

Relevant And Comprehensible Content:

No matter if the content is based on a cartoon character or not, to get approved, the content should be educational or relevant for kids.

All these changes on the YouTube channel would save the parents from getting embarrassed with the inappropriate questions about irrelevant content.

UK GOVT GIVES FULLY BLOWN WARNING TO ILLEGAL STREAMERS

THE STORY

According to the IPO(Intellectual Property Office), the UK govt has warned Kodi box users to remove all the third party plugins which make them access pirated content.

WHAT IS THE ISSUE?

Motion Picture Association of America(MPAA) disclosed that 70% of Kodi’s users use plugins which gives them access to pirated material. Upon knowing this, the United Kingdom’s Intellectual Property Office (IPO) threatened Kodi users to remove the third party add-ons that enable them to watch copyrighted content for free.

Kodi boxes are supposedly capable of exposing its users to irrelevant content. Well, this doesn’t make it a powder keg. However, one of the things with all these conflicts comes out to be true, regardless of the make of the device, it has certainly not been through series of rigorous tests.

Well, the move made by IPO might not surely resolve the issue. As, the suggestion of removing the plugins and altering the software would not change the build quality and therefore, it would still pose a threat.

WHAT DOES THE UK GOVERNMENT SAY?

From all the steps taken, it seems that IPO is taking the issue seriously. “The creative industry in the UK is a very important sector,” explained the IPO in its extensive guide to underground streaming devices. “It provides employment for more than 1.9 million people and contributes £84.1 billion to our economy.”

“Using illicit streaming devices is illegal,” it added. “If you are not paying for this content, you are depriving industry of the revenue it needs to fund the next generation of TV programmes, films and sporting events we all enjoy.”

The IPO has ordered members of the public to keep an eye on people selling fully loaded Kodi boxes to Crimestoppers.
