  1. Launch MS Excel and open the file/database you want to work upon.
  2. Select the columns and rows you wish to hide (use the mouse and Ctrl key if you want to select more non-contiguous rows or columns).
  3. Click on the Home tab located at the top left-hand side.
  4. Click on the Format button.
  5. Select Hide & Unhide option under the Visibility section.
  6. Select the rows/columns you wish to hide.

If you’re looking forward to hide or unhide a grouped data (rows and columns, which are together), you may use the Group feature. It is important to note that the Group function works only over the Excel versions of 2007, 2010, 2013 & 2016 and works only if the rows and columns are contiguous:

  1. Select the rows and columns you wish to hide (make sure they’re together)
  2. Click on Data tab on the top.
  3. Click on Group button.
