AMAZON TO SELL CHROMECAST & APPLE TV

THE STORY

Amazon will start Google Chromecast and Apple TV devices.

WHEN IS IT GOING TO HAPPEN?

Amazon announced on Thursday that it will soon start sell Apple TV and Google Chromecast devices on its online store. Amazon removed these devices from its e-commerce platform two years ago, when launched its Fire products. The company mentioned that it has removed the competing streaming devices to “avoid customer confusion” as they might buy those products in a dilemma that it will work with Amazon’s Video service.

Amazon has already added product listing pages for Apple TV along with two versions of Apple TV 4K. You can also see Google Chromecast and Chromecast Ultra’s listing on Amazon. However, you can’t buy them as of now, but they will be soon available on the site.

IS THIS THE END OF THE COLD WAR BETWEEN APPLE & AMAZON, GOOGLE & AMAZON?

With the entry of Google and Apple products on Amazon, the customers of the trio would get relieved of the unnecessary stress.

An Amazon spokeswoman said in a statement,”I can confirm that we are asserting Apple TV Amazon Prime Streaming services made its way to Apple TV a few days back which made Amazon come to this decision of selling Apple TV devices on its e-commerce platform. This is a win-win for the loyal customers of the duo.

As far as this dispute is concerned, Google removed YouTube from Amazon Echo show and Fire TV devices last week.

Google spokesperson stated, “We are in productive discussions with Amazon to reach an agreement for the benefit of our mutual customers”. “We hope we can reach an agreement to resolve these issues soon.”

With Amazon’s move of bringing back the chromecast devices, Google might consider bringing YouTube back to Echo show and other Amazon devices.
