There are a lot of feature updates coming up for Bing.

WHAT ARE THE NEW FEATURES?

Microsoft announced that a new update of Bing will be rolled out soon. It is expected that these updates will make Bing smarter than ever. In other words, Bing will now be able to give more precise results by taking advantage of AI research and a new partnership with Reddit.

According to Microsoft, the updates are enrapt for engaging users in more conversations and subtle answers just like its other competitors like Google. Some of the new features that made it through are, Intelligent Search, Conversational Search, and Intelligent Image Search.

When we talk about Intelligent and Conversational search, they are focused on making sure that Microsoft’s search engine is comprehensible and functional.  Image Search has also been rejigged. Now with the new update, it has an ability to zoom to specific parts of images and search for other images alike to the selected portion. It works when you click “search within image” button.

The company also announced a collaboration with Reddit to get more beneficial results from the website. With the partnership, the Reddit content would be integrated into Bing search results.

With all these new addon features, Bing will be more useful than ever. Effectively utilizing Reddit’s data, Bing will establish its presence more prominently and people will rely on it more.

WHAT MICROSOFT AND REDDIT HAVE TO SAY?

Kristina Behr, a partner design, and planning program manager with Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence and Research group stated, “AI has come a long way in the ability to find information, but making sense of that information is the real challenge.”

Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian stated, “We see this as a new window into helping people discover new communities. We can make both of our platforms better as a result.”


GOOGLE ASSISTANT COMES TO ANDROID TABLET

Android Tablet running on Android 7.0 Nougat and Android 6.0 Marshmallow will get Google Assistant in the coming weeks.

GOOGLE ASSISTANT ON ANDROID TABLET?

Not every device will get the newer version of Android due to their hardware specs but that doesn’t mean they will not get the virtual assistant as well.

Google Assistant is now available for Android tablets running Android 7.0 and 6.0 Marshmallow. The digital assistant is already available on Android phones, Google Home, Android Wear and iOS app. Not only this, Google’s personal assistant will soon be available to phones with Android 5.0 Lollipop. With the Google Assistant available on a device, a user can search the internet, modify settings, show Google account information and more by using his/her voice.

Google said, “Android tablet users with their language set to English in the US will see Google Assistant hit their tablet in the coming weeks.”

WHERE IS IT RELEASING FOR NOW?

Google Assistant is coming to Android tablet on Android version 6.0 and 7.0 in coming weeks. They are also rolling out the update for Android 5.0 which would now enable the users to use the digital voice assistant

As of now Google assistant has started to roll out for users in the US, UK, Singapore, India, Australia, Canada whose phone language set to English. It will also be available for users whose phone language is Spanish in the US, Spain, and Mexico.

Moreover, it will also be released for users in Italy, Brazil, Germany, Korea and Japan.
