QUOTE OF THE DAY:
“The world has changed far more in the past 100 years than in any other century in history. The reason is not political or economic but technological technologies that flowed directly from advances in basic science” ~ Stephen Hawking
‘RECOMMENDED’ POSTS NOW ON INSTAGRAM
Instagram’s feed will now show us recommended posts.
Instagram’s feed will show users recommended posts. This feature has gone live silently. According to the company’s blog post, this feature will show you those posts on the basis of posts of following accounts that you like. The new section, “Recommended for You, is clearly labeled so you don’t get confused with your own home feed.
This is not the first time Instagram has recommended post or content. However, it is different from the previous one. Earlier, you have to go to Explore section to check recommended content. Moreover, you can choose to see which posts your friends have been liking in the Following section.
The feature is available for both iOS and Android both. However, it is confirmed when it will roll out and become available to all of Instagram’s user base.
Well, Instagram’s feed gets a big change with Recommended Post after the chronological feed. It will work just as Facebook’s new Explore feed. So, now when you will scroll through your home feed, you will see things other than following posts
However, unlike the hashtags feature, Recommendations can’t be disabled. You can only choose to hide “Recommended for You” section on your temporary basis. You can hide it by tapping the three-dot menu above the post.
WILL IT TAKE THE SPACE OF THE POSTS THAT WE LIKE?
Well, no, “Recommended for You”section will not replace the content you like with Instagram’s recommendations. The section will appear after you have viewed all the posts in your feed. Still, some of the users have reacted negatively to the update as they prefer the older version of the Instagram.
Here are some of the reactions by the irked users:
SNAPCHAT WORKING ON STORIES EVERYWHERE
SnapChat is working on developing a feature “Stories Everywhere,” which will enable users to share their stories on other platforms.
WHAT’S SNAPCHAT UPTO?
SnapChat is working on a new feature will allow users to share their stores outside the Snapchat app. The feature is called “Stories Everywhere,”. The aim to develop the feature is to spread Snapchat’s wings beyond the mobile app. The decision to go public has not gone good for Snapchat and therefore, the company bore atrocious loss in terms of growth and revenue. One of the many reasons for decline was Facebook imitating all the core features of the app and releasing it on Instagram.
Snapchat has been working to make Snapchat user-friendly than ever. Their work starts with redesigning the app. The changes will include a more focused Discover feed, where the users will access news and entertainment from professional print, TV, and online outlets. We don’t what kind of impact will appear in terms of revenue and user growth but one thing is sure that Snapchat is trying hard to expand and increase the presence of Snapchat’s content to a wider ecosystem.
WHAT RAHUL CHOPRA HAS TO SAY?
CEO Rahul Chopra is leading the team working on “Stories Everywhere” project and the focus is to increase the growth of users by making Snapchat more engaging for sports lovers, people who follow news and others. By adding Stories Everywhere to Snapchat, the company wants users to share stories on the news sites and other places on the internet which will encourage people to sign up for Snapchat.
