FUTURE SMARTPHONES MIGHT DITCH THE BEZEL
With Samsung and Apple’s phone with bezel-less smartphones, it looks like it is just a start.
WILL BEZEL-LESS PHONE BE THE FUTURE?
Smartphones with bigger screens have gained popularity. Now with the bezel-less screen, users get more space. Given the latest trend and popularity of it, other smartphone companies are bound to follow it.
A research by China-based research consultancy Sigmaintell Consulting proves that shipments of all-screen smartphones are supposed to top 910 million units in 2018. This is a huge hike, given the last year’s 130 million units shipped. There will be 61% of increase in global shipments of these handsets in 2018. Till 2020, it will increase it to 85%.
WILL IT BE FOLLOWED THROUGH?
Given the number of AMOLED displays shipped, it is expected that 75 percent smartphones will be all-screen smartphones. Last year, it was 30%.
Samsung was the first one to come up with bezel-less smartphones, but with Apple X’s release, the rivals are forced to emulate to stay in the competition.
First came the phablet, which comes somewhere in between a smartphone and a tablet which increased the size of the phones. But with the bezel-less screen will enable manufacturers to include phablet proportion displays in their smartphones. In order words, they don’t have to increase the size of the device, isn’t it cool?
Well, iPhone X is a success or failure is yet to be decided. As the price tag of $1000 isn’t helping the sales!
COMCAST INCREASES PRICES IN 2018
Comcast is increasing the prices in January 2018.
IS THIS JUST THE START?
Many people and organizations opposed Net Neutrality repeal. Now companies like Comcast, AT&T, DishTV, and others have planned to hike prices in January. The increase in price includes the Internet, modem rentals, TV packages, and late charges as well.
Although Comcast is facing many lawsuits for Broadcast TV” and “Regional Sports” fees, still it will be indulging in imaginary services as well. Well, this is not a new thing for Comcast as it increases the prices every year as it is not due to net neutrality.
Comcast has been always like this as it always increases its prices every year. In 2014, the company was indicted for misleading customers and when asked for a reason, the company claims that the hikes are done to make the service more transparent.
All these hikes have been so favorable for the company that it is claiming the new GOP tax plan is great and it will be showering its employees with $1000 to some of its staff members.
WHAT IS MORE TO COME?
It is still unclear why the company has announced that it would be generously giving away dollars to its employees when the tax plan hasn’t been finalized yet.
It seems as Ajit Pai has some political dominance with the GOP and also provided intel about the same to the gigantic firms like Comcast, AT&T who have been on Team Trump.
With all these autocratic supremacy, you can certainly experience the inexplicable price hikes in future. But is it fair? Do we consumers deserve better than this?
Comcast might have been influenced by Ajit Pai’s underhanded destruction of consumer protections but there are clear signs of destructions in future. The arbitrary nature of ISPs and TV providers has given rise to the video streaming services like YouTube and Netflix and made them popular.
