QUOTE OF THE DAY:
“The number one benefit of information technology is that it empowers people to do what they want to do. It lets people be creative. It lets people be productive. It lets people learn things they didn’t think they could learn before, and so in a sense, it is all about potential.” ~ Steve Ballmer
NOW GET A PRIVATE WAY TO SAVE TWEETS
Twitter is finally launching Bookmarks feature today.
WHY IS BOOKMARK NEEDED?
Twitter has been testing the “Bookmarks” features since last year and has finally decided to launch it today. Now, you might be thinking why the feature was needed in the first place! Well, you can’t possibly read all the long post or attached links to the longer articles at the same time. People also want privacy on what they choose to read. Moreover, users can’t possibly use the Favorite button for saving every tweet given the nature of the tweet’s content. As the Favorite button is shaped like a heart display a positive sentiment. In addition to this, when you Favorite the post, it is not only visible to the one who posted the tweet but also to other people as well. Your list of favorites can also be accessed by everyone from your Twitter profile.
Now with bookmarks, you can easily return to a tweet, without notifying that you liked the tweet or support the content. Bookmarks are rolling out on Twitter today for iOS and Android, Twitter Lite, and mobile.twitter.com.
HOW DID TWITTER USERS DEAL WITH THE ISSUE?
The privacy issue and not wanting to let others check your Favorite content on Twitter has made users find workarounds. Some of them are direct messaging the tweets to themselves, saving them in Notepad, opening in a new tab, emailing to self.
Now, as Bookmark feature is released, they don’t have to use these hacks
HOW TO USE IT?
It is very easy to use the feature. To do that, you need to click on a new “Share” icon, located at the right-hand side of the Favorite button. There you will get options to share: Send via Direct Message, Add Tweet to Bookmarks and Share Tweet via.
To view your saved tweets, tap on your Profile icon to get the menu. You will get the Bookmarks list besides Moments and Twitter Lists.
