Apple hires John Giannandrea, Google AI Chief to sustain the AI competition.

WHAT IS THE REASON OF HIRING A GOOGLE EMPLOYEE?

The news of Apple hiring John Giannandrea has led to a lot of speculations. The Google’s Chief of search and artificial intelligence is appointed to be in the race of AI evolution.

Apple stated that Mr. Giannandrea will lead Apple’s “machine learning and A.I. strategy,” and is one of the 16 executives who answerable directly to Apple’s CEO, Timothy D. Cook.

This seems to be a win credited to Apple’s account, the move is also seen as Apple’s desperation to be in the race of evolution of trending technology.  This era is all about computer handling difficult tasks such as recognizing people in images or taking voice commands

On Tuesday,  Mr. Cook said, “Our technology must be infused with the values we all hold dear. John shares our commitment to privacy and our thoughtful approach as we make computers even smarter and more personal.”

WHO IS J.G?

A 53-year-old gentleman, John Giannandrea, who is from Scotland and called by the name JG. He successfully led the teams which worked on various Google products, such as Gmail, internet search, and Google Assistant. He was with Google since 2010. He joined Google when Google took over Metaweb, a company wherein he was Chief Technology Officer.

WHAT IS APPLE THINKING?

No matter to what extent, Apple has gained popularity with its shiny iPhones, outstandingly stunning Macs, but when it comes to digital assistant, Siri is said to be less efficient and effective than its rivals.

By hiring Google’s Brain behind Google Assistant, Mr. Giannandrea, Apple is hoping to make the AI better.

As AI is a trending tech, the experts in the field are the creamy layer of engineers and their salaries are mostly exceeding eight figures. When on Monday news came out that Mr. Giannandrea is resigning from his post, Google’s A.I. chief. It only took less than a day, he got hired by Apple.Inc.

It looks like Apple is quite serious about AI and has hired some of the best of the market to get the best. Some of the recent addition to the team includes Carnegie Mellon professor Russ Salakhutdinov. Mr. Salakhutdinov was an apprentice of Geoffrey Hinton, help manage the Google Brain lab.

WHAT COULD BE THE CHALLENGE?

Apple takes the privacy of its users very seriously and which could be the downside for it when working on a neural network.

Mostly researchers work on these systems by integrating the huge amount of digital data. But it is different in case of Apple, as instead digital data, it would use developing methods to train these algorithms as it doesn’t want to violate privacy.

WHAT ARE THE HIGHLIGHTED FEATURES?

As the high-end smartphones are mostly publicized, the low and mid-range smartphones mostly come and go, are never able to stay in limelight. However, if the premium features like Dual Rear Cameras appear to be coming with a headset, it is worth noticing.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo when launched had 5.5 inches Super AMOLED display, 3GB RAM, 16GB storage, a 13MP camera, and Exynos 7870 processor 3600 mAh battery

However, the leaked manual suggests that the 2018 model of the phone is getting launched with a addition of new features. The device with model number SM-J720F will have 13 MP (same as before) along with 5MP imaging sensor(addition to it). Samsung also informs about a “Live Focus” feature which helps you get a bokeh effect.

Another important addition is Bixby Home. Samsung is still up to promote the usage of Bixby on its devices. However, this Samsung device doesn’t have physical Bixby button but has its features. Bixby Home is on the home screen located at the left-hand side corner.

As per the manual, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo could have removable batteries which are quite cool.

WHAT ARE THE OTHER CHANGES?

The other specifications and features that are added Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo are not clear. Although, according to the manual, it will have Bixby Home assistance,  5.5-inch 720p screen,  32GB internal storage, RAM of about 4GB and possibly Android 8.0 Oreo.
