GOOGLE ASSISTANT’S NEW VISUAL OVERLAY WITH PROACTIVE SUGGESTIONS AND PERSONALIZED INFORMATION

THE STORY

Google announced a new visual overlay for Google Assistant app. The latest Google Assistant update will start to roll out this week for both Android and iOS devices.

WHAT’S IN THE PACKAGE?

Google Assistant will give proactive suggestions and personalized information to stay on schedule with its all new snapshot. It will provide users with personalized information depending on the time of day, location, and also on recent interactions with the Assistant.

With this, users will get to know when it’s time to get to home, workplace or if they have a scheduled lunch/dinner or some official meeting. By moving down in the app, users can also see proactive suggestions like reminders, restaurant or movie reservations, upcoming bills, packages to be delivered, flight delay and notifications for new Actions user should try.

For the upcoming features in snapshot, in the latest post by Deniz Binay, Product Manager, Google Assistant said,

“We’ll continue to add more useful features to your snapshot over time—for example, an overview of your notes and lists from Google Keep, Any.do, Bring! Todoist and others; a new discovery section to help you find activities nearby; reminders on where you parked; personalized recommendations for music and podcasts; and much more.”

HOW TO USE GOOGLE ASSISTANT’S NEW VISUAL SNAPSHOT?

Well, to get proactive suggestions and notifications, activate Google Assistant.

If you are an Android user, then tap on new icon given at top right corner of the app. Or if you are an iOS user, Google Assistant will automatically display personal updates as soon as you open the app.

This new visual snapshot will start to roll out this week and will be available for both Android and iOS devices. It will be available in all the languages that Google Assistant supports.

APPLE’S NEW EMOJI UPDATE

THE STORY

Apple on World Emoji Day announced more than 70 new emoji for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.

WHAT NEW EMOJI CHARACTERS USERS WILL GET TO USE?

All the new emoji characters are based on approved characters in Unicode 11.0. In this update emoji characters will have more hair options to represent certain kind of hair people have. This includes red hair, gray hair and curly hair, also a new emoji for bald people.

Apple also developed some new smiley faces that are more expressive and can be used for messages such as cold face, party face, pleading face and a face with hearts.

WHAT’S NEW IN THE LIST OF ANIMALS AND FOOD?

The list of animal emoji was already too big, but still Apple has added some of the most realistically designed animal emoji that includes Kangaroo, Peacock, Parrot, and Lobster.

Whereas when we talk about the food emoji, Apple added most popular items that includes Mango, Lettuce, Cupcake, Moon cake, and many more.

This is not it, several other emoji characters in sports and symbols such as a new superhero emoji, softball, nazar amulet and infinity symbol , which will be coming later this year.

All these new character emoji and other emoji will be coming later this year in the new software update of iOS. This update will be available on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.
