How To Use MS Office Inbuilt Screenshot Tool?

Whenever you want to capture your screen, what you do? Well, you press PrintScr on your PC’s Keyboard, press Shift-Command-4 on Mac, use Home and Power button on iPhone, or power and volume-down on Android, isn’t it? What if you want to take a screenshot while working on MS Office applications. Would you prefer to use a default method to take a screenshot on a device or would it be more convenient to take a screenshot within the app?

Yes, you heard it right? Now, you can take and add a screenshot while working on a Word document or Excel sheet, without the headache of copying and pasting it on the document.

Follow these steps to add a screenshot to any of the MS Office apps, here we have taken an example of MS Word document.

Step 1: Launch Microsoft Office app and open a document which you want to work on.

Step 2: From the main menu ribbon, locate “Insert” and click on it.

Step 3: On the Insert tab, look for Screenshot option.

Step 4: Click Screenshot button.

Step 5: It will show you images of the available windows asking you to choose the window of which you might want to take a screenshot.

Step 6: Upon clicking any of the images, a screenshot of the window will be taken and embedded on to your document. You can change the location and position of the image as you like.

Step 7: If you wish to take a screenshot of a certain area on the screen instead of the available window, then select Screen Clipping from the drop-down window of Screenshot option.

Step 8: Once you have selected that, the screen will become blurry and select a certain area in shape of a rectangle that you want, and it will be pasted to your Word Document.

You can change the position of the screenshot as per your liking

As the image is pasted on to your word document, you will get Picture Tools opened. You can make changes to the screenshot as you want.

Also, you can save the screenshot by right-clicking on it. You will get a context menu, navigate to Save As Picture. Save the image on the preferred location by selecting the image format and keying in the name.
