OBVIOUS PAYPAL PHISHING SCAM RETURNS ON TWITTER

THE STORY

Twitter caught promoting phishing scam by the name of PayPal Christmas Gifts.

TWITTER LACKING SECURITY?

The account used for the purpose seems to be authentic PayPal account. The gifts and prizes weren’t listed, but the picture was tweeted where one can see iPhone X and an exclusive luxury car.

Users are redirected to an URL that looks like authentic PayPal login site. Looks like, Twitter is lacking behind its protocol security. Lack of security can turn the tables upside down for Twitter. For now, the account used has been deleted.

IS TWITTER AWARE OF THE SITUATION?

As per TNW, they have reached out to PayPal and Twitter, and no responses have been received yet from both the brands. Twitter was also caught earlier for promoting fake Elon Musk cryptocurrency scam, where post mentioned that

LACK OF SECURITY OR ARE HACKERS PAYING REAL GOOD TO TWITTER?

Well, if it’s a mistake then Twitter should come and speak up, as users are more worried of their credentials. If PayPal of millions will get hacked, then surely it would be a disaster for online users.

Or it might be possible that the active hackers are paying really good to promote these phishing scams. The question to ask is, ‘Is money more important than users?’

#MEDITATIONGAMES – A NEW GAME LAUNCHER MAKES ITS DEBUT

 THE STORY

Meditations, a game launcher which will every day load a new small game, accompanied by a text meditation, distraction, lesson, or inspiration for every specific day.

WHAT’S THE IDEA BEHIND MEDITATIONS?

The idea is to provide users with everyday new games, inspired by that day. The idea was executed by Rami Ismail, who is himself a developer and a chief of gaming studio Vlambeer. He asked gaming developers to join-in hands for the concept, to which around 350+ developers came along and executed the plan.

He made an official announcement on Twitter,

He also Tweeted, “If you like any days’ Meditation, I would very much appreciate it if you tweeted or talked about it using #meditationgames.”

The first game of the year on Meditations was TEMPRES by Takorii, the game that started this whole idea.

HOW DOES MEDITATIONS WORK?

Meditations will work as a launcher. The setup file that user will download is a launcher that allows them to access Meditation. For this, launcher sometimes downloads file up to 500 MB that contains additional required files.

The Meditations game launcher is available for Windows 7+ and Mac OSX 10.12+ versions.

Meditations are free games that are small with minimalistic graphics. Most of the games are based on the day on which they’re available to play. It would take used only 5 minutes to complete the Mediation for the day. Many of these games were developed in approximately 6 hours.
