According to research 70%, more people are making group video calls either for work or to stay connected. Not only this, but people are also spending more time on Facebook and Instagram.

Due to this, the social giant decided to roll out live streaming for non-Facebook users.

Once the feature is out users without having a Facebook account will be able to live stream videos on their mobile devices.

This feature is not new, as it was previously available on desktop. However, once mobile users have it, they will be able to live stream videos easily on their mobile devices.

Is the company making any changes to the feature?

Certainly, the company is adding more features like:

  • Watch or listen to live broadcasts anytime, anywhere.
  • An audio-only option for live broadcasts.
  • Logged out viewing for public videos.
  • Toll-free dial-in option for people to dial into the live stream.
  • Automatic closed captions on all live videos.

On what devices is this feature available?

Currently, the feature is available only for Android users. Soon it will be rolled out for iOS users too.

Why is Facebook making these changes?

According to the company they are doing it to help people looking for ways to stay informed and connected. Not only this, but the company is also doing it to support content creators. This will help them reach more publishers and make money.
