QUOTE OF THE DAY: “In the 20th century, we had a century where at the beginning of the century, most of the world was agricultural and industry was very primitive. At the end of that century, we had men in orbit, we had been to the moon, we had people with cell phones and color televisions and the Internet and amazing medical technology of all kinds.” – David Gerrold.
APPLE WATCH TO GET TAPTIC-ENABLED BUTTONS
THE STORY: Just like the “Home Button” on new variants of iPhone 7, Apple Watch is said to go buttonless in near future and it is supposed to get a whole side of the watch case touch sensitive.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT IN NEW APPLE WATCH?
According to Fast Company, Apple is planning to make a major change in its Apple Watch by replacing its button to a solid-state touch sensitive component. This would look like a button but would not be able to trigger any action and provide haptic feedback. This button is exactly similar to the one on new iPhone 7 that can’t be pressed but has inbuilt touch sense. Fast Company reveals that the company would keep the same configuration of buttons, but they can’t move physically. Also, this new structure would be backed by Apple’s Taptic Engine technology to act over a user’s touch. However, the digital crown would still be able to scroll and move physically, according to report.
HOW IS IT GOING TO MAKE DIFFERENCE?
Removing a physically moving component to something that stays there is going to help Apple making its devices water resistant. As all the physical buttons have some loopholes that may fail to stop water to get in, a solid-state component would leave no room for any foreign object to pass. Also, replacing the button with a stable item would help Apple in making devices with lesser items that can break. Removing physical button and replacing them with its replica seems to succeed in Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Apple has also replaced items back in 2015 with its MacBook Pro’s Force Touch Trackpad.
The Taptic Engine, which is a name given by Apple to its technology, means a combination ‘tap’ and ‘haptic feedback’. Here, the technology uses vibration to provide touch like feelings to its users. Applying Taptic Engine technology will help Apple to have more room to provide users with a bigger battery. Also, making it water resistant is going to attract swimmers and other sports personals. This makes the Taptic Engine technology a profitable step for the company.
MICROSOFT TO ANSWER PS4 WITH ITS OWN GAME STREAMING SERVICE
Microsoft has announced to launch its own game streaming service for its users in a retaliation to its competitor Sony, which has launched the PlayStation Now to offer a complete library of games.
WHAT IS MICROSOFT HAS TO OFFER?
In an answer to Sony’s PlayStation Now, Microsoft has announced that it is developing its own game streaming service for its users. With the launch of this service, Microsoft promises to provide console-quality gaming on any device. It means, you can expect the same level of graphics, visuals, audio and gameplay on your laptop and phone too. In short, you don’t have to buy those expensive gaming machines to enjoy your favorite games. Although, Microsoft hasn’t made any statement over the release date or even a name for the service, but if it says its coming, it’s worth waiting for.
HOW DOES ONLINE GAME STREAMING SERVICE WORK?
Online game streaming service is similar to Netflix that provides you with access to thousands of movies, TV shows and much more, that too in multiple genres. In game streaming, you get access to many games by paying a monthly rental subscription to the provider. Just like in Sony’s PlayStation Now, you pay a subscription to gain the access over 500+ games. Here, you don’t have to buy any game or its digital code. Once you’re registered, you’re entitled to play games like Killzone Shadow Fall, God of War III Remastered, Resogun, Ultimate Street Fighter IV, WWE 2K16, Saints Row IV and Re-Elected. One of the best things about online game streaming is that you get your favorite game to play without buying it, if you’ve a PS4 or even a Windows PC.
