An official feed from the Google team revealed a new Gmail update that will allow the users to create multiple signatures and choose which one they want to use while drafting the email. The feature of multiple signatures might have been due for a long time, but as they say, ‘better late than never’.
The official scheduled release for this update had been previously determined on March 24 this year. But it seems that the rollout of this update has been initiated, and it will reach out to all its users within a couple of weeks. This feature will be available for Gmail users alike – G Suite Professional users and other users with personal Google Accounts.

The multiple signature feature of Gmail has many uses and can be used in various situations and under different conditions like:
- It helps people communicate in different languages and use the relative signature.
- Users can send emails with different signatures within and outside the organizations with a few clicks.
- You can send formal emails with relevant information like phone number, department and designation and at the same time, send personal emails with a different signature.

If you are among the lucky ones who have already received the update, then you start using this feature by following these steps:
Step 1. Sign-in your Gmail account on any browser.
Step 2. Click on the Gear or Cog icon located on the top-right corner of the Gmail screen. Choose Settings from the Contextual menu.
Step 3. The first tab labeled as General should be selected. Scroll down till you locate Signature.
Step 4. You will see an option to Create New signature. Click on it, and now you can create multiple signatures.
Note: If you are using the old Gmail and have already created a Signature, then you will not get the Create Signature Option. But after the update, you will be able to see it too.
Step 5. Once you have created multiple signatures, you can select between them while you compose a new email. Click on the Pen icon, which will be a new entry in the Compose Action Toolbar next to the Send Button.
Step 6. Once you click on the Pen icon, you will get a contextual menu that will allow you to add, edit or remove signatures.
Note: This is not how the original Pen icon might look like. It is just a representation as to how it could look like and where it would be placed.
There are plenty of third-party apps available in the market for quite some time now that has inculcated the feature of multiple signatures and allowing users to choose while sending or replying an email. Perhaps, the popularity of these apps led Google to add this feature to its Gmail making it more convenient for its users. Once the update completes its rollout process, users need not tweak their signatures while sending it to a different type of recipient but choose from the options that have been pre-set by them.
Well, better late than never, it is great that now you can add/choose multiple signatures on Gmail. What do you think about the feature? Please mention your thoughts in the comments section below.
