QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Android has been managed essentially to make it a profitless prosperity. Right now, if Google is not careful, Android will be Samsung or Samsung will be Android.” ~ Roger McNamee
SAMSUNG WILL ROLL OUT GALAXY NOTE 8 TO STOP APPLE IN THEIR TRACKS
Samsung’s next-gen Note 8 hopes to undo past mistakes while keeping competition in check.
FIRST THINGS FIRST, WILL IT EXPLODE?
Samsung sure maintains the highest number of sales when it comes to smartphones sold across the globe. However, that still doesn’t mean that it is always a win-win situation for them as seen in the Note 7 debacle last year. This year however, the South Korean tech giant hopes to not only become the highest selling brand, but also the most trusted brand. Similar to what Nokia did in the early 2000s.
Their latest offering however, might be able to upset Apple’s plans of world domination. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has finally been rolled out in over 42 countries across the globe. And thankfully, this won’t go up in flames like its predecessor.
WHAT ARE SAMSUNG’S CHANCES AGAINST IPHONE X?
A lot of readers might feel that Samsung might not be able to deliver compared to Apple’s self-proclaimed ‘Future of Smartphones’. However, we should still keep in mind that regardless of how Apple products are considered a phenomenon, they still can’t hold a candle to Samsung’s global sales. Hence, Galaxy Note 8 can certainly become a major hurdle to iPhone X and its henchmen 8 and 8 Plus.
Moreover, Note 8’s $930 price tag might also be able to lure buyers who might feel a little ripped by Apple’s skyrocketing price for their 10th anniversary iPhone.
WHAT ABOUT SPECS?
Even though Galaxy Note 8 doesn’t boast of its Facial ID tech like Apple, it has everything in store to compete with Apple. While both phones have highly attractive designs, Galaxy Note 8 has a bigger 6.3 inch AMOLED display and edge-to-edge display like iPhone X. Also making up where Apple failed to deliver, Note 8 also comes with a fingerprint id that works in conjunction with their facial id security. Both phones are powered by A11 processors with Augmented Reality support.
Hence, we can clearly see how Samsung has armed their new challenger to the teeth and it is only a matter of time before we can pick a clear winner.
GOOGLE PIXEL 2 WILL HIT THE STORES BY OCTOBER 2017
Google ready to battle iPhone X for ‘Smartphone of the Future’ title.
WHAT, MORE COMPETITION FOR iPhone?
Number one or not, Apple launches sure stir up a lot of ruckus and start a whole new generation of technology wars. Their new flagship smartphone iPhone X too did the same thing, despite of Tim Cook claiming it to be the ‘Most Advanced Smartphone’ currently. However, it was certain that other players will not take things lightly.
Hence it surely doesn’t come as a surprise that Google too have decided to unveil their flagship Android smartphone the ‘Pixel 2’ this october. This is in continuation of their first Pixel smartphone that was launched around the same time last year.
OKAY, WHAT DO THEY HAVE IN STORE NOW?
While Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 looks like a worthy competitor for iPhone X, Google surely need to raise the bar if it wants to even appear significant. While Pixel smartphone is certainly the most advanced Android smartphone, it still needs to become a de-facto brand. While no details about Pixel 2’s specs have been announced by Google, they might want to release a bezel-less model if they want competitors to take them seriously.
Nevertheless, we can only keep our finger’s crossed before we can finally get to try Google’s next generation Android smartphone and see how it fares against rivals.
