Even after the WWDC has finally wrapped up, the buzz about Apple highlights is all over the news. iOS 13, iPadOS, Catalina and WatchOS 6 remained the prime highlights of the WWDC event 2019, held at San Jose, California. Apple has finally confirmed about WatchOS 6 release that is expected to happen later this year, and we absolutely can’t keep calm!
In this post we will be focusing on the latest Watch OS version that changes the way how you use your Apple Watch, offering improved performance capabilities and added functionalities for health and fitness. More and more reason of why we’re pretty excited about WatchOS 6 release is the fact that now you will be able to access App Store right through your wrist. Yes, you heard right! With WatchOS 6 loaded on your Apple Watch, you won’t need your iPhone to install apps anymore. Isn’t that awesome?
Well, stick tight to your seats! WatchOS 6 is said to be the biggest upgrade that will make your Apple Watch experience even better. We have compiled some of the best WatchOS 6 features, expected release date and probably everything else that you should know about this latest wearable OS.
Let’s get started!
Stand Alone Wearables
Like we said earlier, this is so far the most anticipated features which we’ve all been waiting for a long time. With Watch OS 6 loaded on your Apple Watch, you no longer would require an iPhone to download apps. There will be a dedicated “Watch App Store” where you can browse and install all your favorite applications right through your wrist.
Another important announcement we heard at the WWDC event is that Apple will now include a new “Activity Trend” feature listing a detailed coverage of your recent activities in a dashboard interface. With the help of these features, you will be able to analyze your health, fitness and exercise patterns in a way more detailed format.
Improved Period Tracking
Great news for all the women out there! You don’t need to keep track of your periods by using a third-party app anymore. WatchOS 6’s Cycle Tracking app can help you take care of tracking your period, how it will affect your activities. The Cycle Tracking app will also sync this data with Apple’s HealthKit to provide more accurate results in determining your upcoming period date of when it’s likely to start.
New Watch Faces
Apple has also confirmed that WatchOS 6 will also be a featuring a bunch of new Watch Faces with its release. You can give a fresh look to your Apple wearable by choosing from various Watch faces including numeral, California, Compact, Solar Dial and more.
WatchOS 6 will include a new “Noise” app that will determine the noise in your environment and will let you know how much noise is good/bad for your ear’s health. This app will also be capable of measuring your headphone noise levels to let you know whether the audio range is safe to hear or not.
Improved Time Features
Our Apple Watch is capable of doing so many things but the primary objective for every watch or wearable is to tell time, obviously, right? WatchOS 6 will make your Apple Watch better timekeepers as it will include new time-based features. Like, you can set a feature where your watch can vibrate after every hour or if you’re busy doing something else, tap twice on the Watch face so that Siri can tell you what time it is.
Wondering what song is playing in the background? Yes, you no longer need your iPhone to Shazam. With WatchOS 6, you will be able to Shazam songs right through your wrist with Siri’s assistance.
Expected Release Date
WatchOS 6’s public version is expected to somewhere roll out around September this year. Apple has also announced that they won’t be featuring any Beta version for this update, so seems like we just have to wait till fall to get hands-on with WatchOS 6.
