With Message Draft, you will be able to save any messages which are not sent and check it later on whenever you want to open the chat again. The draft message remains the same and does not let you forget what you were about to say. If ever in the middle of a conversation you have to rush to do something else or the network was lost, this feature will come in handy.

You won’t lose the written text and also you don’t have to worry about forgetting it. The conversation can go on with the message sent afterwards. You can, however, choose to send or delete the drafted message afterwards.

For ease, the message which is drafted is given a Tag Draft in front of it in the respective conversation. Thus, making it easy to recognize later on to take further action.

2. Message Bookmarks

With the continued demand for the search of a particular message in the chat conversations, Skype found the solution as message bookmark. You can now pick a message and bookmark it for viewing it later on. No more searching for it in all of the conversations to look for that one picture. Yes, you can bookmark any text message, image, video files or documents in the Skype conversation. All you need to do is long-press on it and choose the Add bookmark option from the prompt box.

To go back to the Message Bookmark, you need to go to the Bookmarks Screen. You can list as many messages as the bookmarks.

3. Preview The Attachments

To many this has been an issue, sending file attachments without being able to check them. As to many mail giants have provided this service, so as the messaging apps. Skype now lets users see a preview of the media or files attached in the conversation box itself. This feature will help largely as many people make the mistake of sending a wrong attachment.

Although the feature of deleting the sent message is very helpful in such situations. The sent message if is viewed can be a trouble. So as to finish this mayhem for once and all, Skype’s new feature of using the preview is very helpful.

While you view the files in your message panel, you can remove them from there if you find them incorrect. Also, you can add message along with the attachments to make it more precise for what context they hold.

4. Display For Multiple Media Files

As you can attach more files, the display for others in the conversations has to be clear. To make sure they have a look at all the media files sent to them, Skype has launched this feature. For clarity of the sent media files over the chat conversations, it displays the small previews for up to 4 files and shows the additional number of files. This is a great help for identifying with the number of attachments sent.

The album look has also changed as now you can have a clearer view while switching between the sent media files.

5. Split Screen for Windows, Mac and Linux

This is another feature, Split Screen, was very needed by Skype users. As not to mix up the conversations, you need to be able to see all of them clearly. The new feature lets you split the screen into two halves. The first portion shows all the conversations and the other shows the ongoing conversation. It is available for the versions of Windows, Mac and Linux. So use it for most of Skype.

With the desktop version already equipped with the dark theme, the latest features show the same on the phone for the Skype app. To enable the dark theme on your Android or iOS device, you need to head to the Settings on Skype app. Open the Settings from the Profile icon->Appearance. Go to Dark mode from the options given.

It can also appear as the light mode or set it to change along with the system’s mode. This is a major change as the latest versions of Android and iOS have brought dark mode into the smartphones already.

8. Call Scheduling

Add multiple people in the call scheduled as to the earlier version where only one on one calls were possible to be scheduled. This feature is going to be very helpful for team meetings and conferences which can include more people. To add a contact, simply drag and drop from the contact list to the Schedule Call option.
